Made in Japan by Fujigen in 1991, this ST57-500 is Fender Japans take on a late-50s Stratocaster, finished in classic 2-Tone Sunburst.

Features a basswood body, one-piece maple neck and fingerboard, 21 vintage-style frets, 8-hole single-ply pickguard and vintage-style six-screw tremolo. The electronics comprise three original Fender Japan ST-Vintage single-coil pickups with Japanese 250K controls and five-way switching.

Serial number J031580, with period factory markings including an ST-57 neck stamp STD-54 neck pocket stamp and 1991 pencil date. The guitar remains largely original, with the notable exception of the non-original gold Fender-stamped bridge saddles.

1988 Fender Japan ST54-140 EXTRAD Stratocaster - 2-Tone Sunburst

Rare 1988 Fender Japan ST54-140 EXTRAD, from Fender Japan's top-tier Extra Traditional series. Built as a premium recreation of a 1954 Stratocaster, the EXTRAD range sat above the regular Vintage Series and was produced in comparatively small numbers using selected materials, lacquer finishes and USA electronics.

This example is identified by matching factory STS-54 and circled-S markings to both the neck heel and body pocket, with the neck pencil-dated 8-8-88. It carries E908544 Made in Japan serial numbering and period USA CTS electronics, with one visible pot dated to the 50th week of 1986.

Features a beautifully figured one-piece maple neck with pronounced natural flame figuring, consistent with the exceptionally high-grade timber selection for which the EXTRAD series was known, 2-tone sunburst finish, single-ply 8-hole pickguard and vintage-style six-screw synchronized tremolo.

The original USA single-coil pickups have been replaced with Lace Sensors. The neck and bridge are a matching pair of early USA-made Fender-AGI Lace Sensors, with a different-production USA Lace Sensor fitted in the middle position.

Made in Japan, this Fender MG65 is a '65-style Mustang reissue, finished in Vintage White with a three-ply tortoiseshell pickguard.

It features a period-correct slab-style poplar body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 24 inch short scale and vintage-style F-key tuners with white plastic buttons. The MG65 was designed as a more faithful recreation of the mid-'60s Mustang than Fender Japan's more common MG69 models.

Fitted with two Mustang single-coil pickups with individual on/off/phase switching, master volume and tone controls, and Fender's classic Dynamic Vibrato system. No trem arm.

Vintage and RARE. Circa 1973-78 - Made in Italy by JEN/FBT.
A very rare variant in the Tonebender timeline. At first this unit appears to be the VOX V828 MkII Tonebender and indeed shares the same graphics face plate as the 2nd version V828s.
However, this particular circuit varies greatly due to its use of Silicon transistors instead of Germanium, and the introduction of a Diode clipping stage. The result a fuzz that does behave and sound like a Tonebender MKII Pro, but with more bite, more treble, a lot more available volume, and far less compression when driven hard.
The same case and circuit are found in later JEN FUZZ pedals, but it is a mystery as to whether this circuit was invented firstly to fulfil an order of VOX Tonebenders, or if it was a pre-existing JEN circuit that they later badged as VOX in order to fulfil an order (the timing of events would determine if it is a ‘legit’ Tonebender variant, or a sneaky contractural obligation fulfilment).
The JEN FUZZ can be found online featuring this exact case and circuit board but with a JEN faceplate covering the 3 x slots, and JEN Italy baseplate graphic.
All Original and very cool.
