S.Yairi - W1000

MSS110584

Regular price $2,750.00

Most players know the name Yairi from the later K. Yairi W-series of the late 1970s and 80s. This instrument, however, comes from the earlier S. Yairi (Sadao Yairi) workshop in Nagoya - a small-shop operation that focused on hand-built guitars for enthusiasts. Instruments from this period are uncommon outside Japan and have become highly desirable among collectors.
This example bears the W-1000 marking and serial 023581, placing it at the very top of the line for S. Yairi dreadnoughts. It features:

- Solid spruce top with rich vintage ambering
- Brazilian rosewood back and sides (rare and highly sought after)
- Ebony fingerboard
- Distinctive snowflake/star inlays unique to S. Yairis higher-grade builds
- Herringbone purfling
- Original abalone S. Yairi headstock inlay
- Replaced gotoh tuners

Unlike the more common K. Yairi W-1000 guitars, this is a genuine S. Yairi workshop build, making it considerably rarer.
