Gibson - 1969 Les Paul Custom
Super rare mid 1969 Custom in translucent Cherry.
Three piece neck with a slim neck carve and no volute. 'Sandwich' body with two layers of mahogany, with a thin maple layer between them, and a maple cap. 50s style control cavity routing done after the maple cap was glued on dates it in the second half of 1969.
The headstock has been filled and re-drilled for the Schaller tuners, so may have originally had waffle backs. At some point it has been professionally stripped and re-finished with Cherry nitro.
Headstock inlay with no dot on 'i' and Schaller tuners date to '69.
UV light inspection shows no neck breaks or repairs.
Patent number pickups measure approx 7K and 7.2K ohms, original wiring with Sprague Black Beauty tone caps.
It's had a professional refret and frets are at around 90%.
Truss rod functions all fine. The neck is straight with slight relief, no warping or twisting.
Plastics painted white.
Includes early 1970s Gibson case.
Regular price $19,999.00
