A smooth tone and prominent octave effect sound good with any amp, unlike some originals. ROSS - Phaser Distortion
Vintage 1970s Made in Kansas USA! 4 Stage Analog JFET controlled phaser with an Aggressive yet usable OP-Amp distortion (think MXR Distortion + with Pro Co RAT). Very big, very purple, very cool. This unit has just been serviced by OEM Electronics with 2 x replacement 4558 Op-Amps for the rate control and 1 x resistor. All 3 x components are outside the signal path. The Phaser circuit has been calibrated and tuned for max sweep range and high vocal quality when the resonance (marked as RECYCLE) is set to maximum, (think YEOAY YEOAY). The Distortion Circuit adds treble as the gain is increased, yielding an abrasive tone that cuts through the mix; but rolling back the the Tone pot on a guitar brings it back into early fuzz tone territory. Coupled with its Phaser section, this pedal can closely emulate classic tones of the 1970s in one single enclosure! The unit is hardwired to 240 Volt.
