Made in Japan. 1983. A total classic. Made as a cheaper alternative to the mighty Jupiter 8. 6 voice polyphony. Midi in / out. Arpeggiator. 48 tones / 32 patches. Fantastic true analog sounds. Has just been serviced by Tim Lovell. Pots cleaned, frequency sider replaced, de-multiplexer replaced with a current production chip. **Has been used in a smoking environment at some point so slightly discoloured and odiferous.

The Yamaha DX7S Data ROM cartridge contains the factory soundset for the DX7S, including 64 voices, 32 performance memories, micro-tunings, and system setups. It’s used to restore the keyboard to its original presets or to reload missing factory patches. Loading requires disabling memory protection, selecting the cartridge bank, transferring the data, and re-enabling protection. Ideal for bringing a DX7S back to full factory spec.

Made in Japan. Allows you to use mark 1 cartridges (the Yamaha DX7 ones basically) in mark 2 slots (Yamaha DX7II-FD, DX7II-D, RX5, TX802, and so on). While voice data from the first generation of 6op synthesizers is compatible with the second generation, it doesn't work the other way around, hence the need for a different size and connector layout of the new cartridges (that also include new features).
