Made in USA 1981. One of Alembic’s more affordable models. Maple and Purple heart neck construction. Mahogany body with Zebrawood caps. Ebony Interesting tone controls allow for a heaps of different tonal possibilities with just the single pickup. The toggle switch engage a bass cut, a ‘mellow’ filter and Filter tone control for some static cocked wah sounds. Schaller tuners and Alembics found brass hardware. Here we have the classic 3 single coil pick-ups with a 5 way switch, Master Volume and Tone and then the fun begins….with an On/Off switch for the Middle Pick UpThe 5 way is set up to give the following selection (switch – off and 1 being towards the neck)- Neck

- Bridge
- Bridge with a shelf filter (think cocked wah)
- Neck and Bridge (Series – Humbucker)
This is where it gets interesting using the on off switch to bring in the Middle Pick Up. Switch it on and you get:
- Neck + Middle
- Neck, Middle + Bridge (Parallel)
- Bridge + Middle (Knopfler territory)
- Bridge with a shelf filter (think cocked wah) + Middle (thickens it up and adds articulation)
- Neck and Bridge (Series – Humbucker) + Middle
