Elk - CM-560 Custom

Made in Japan 1971-72, and only produced for a few years, this was Elk’s top of the line guitar at the time.

The pickups are made by Schaller from the time when it was still West Germany, with 12 small bobbins that can be adjusted individually. It is also known as the first guitar in Japan equipped with foreign-made pickups. Sound-wise, it feels like a mix of Strat pickups and P-90s.

The body is semi-hollow. The back is hollowed out of oak wood, both sides are hollowed, and the central part is solid. The neck joint is also quite unique. It extends into the pickup cavity and scrapes off the upper side to make room for the pickup.

The neck inlay has five mother-of-pearl inlays in one position, and a total of 50 mother-of-pearl inlays are embedded in 10 positions. In addition, it is luxuriously built with lines on both sides of the fingerboard.

Original nylon saddles/bridge has been replaced with a tuneomatic style bridge. Cream binding on the body, neck and head-stock, all in good condition.

Overall it is in very good condition, with some minor chipping of the finish on the body. It is also missing the original Elk branded break angle bar.
Regular price $1,399.00

Honey - Jet-68

Made in Japan - 1960’s - Copy of the rare EKO Rockes guitar.

Also sold under Teisco/Del-Ray badging. This one is missing its name plate unfortunately.

Hollowbody 25.5’’ Scale - Dual Single Coil pickups feature 45-47AWG (Thin!) coil wire which results in a unique tone that can only be found on these early 60’s MIJ guitars.

The guitar is in good cosmetic order and very good playing condition.

The original saddle/bridge has been replaced by a 60’s Japan Rickenbacker style which is free floating under the string tension. Trem Arm missing (but easy to replace). Top part of pickguard missing and knobs missing. Machine heads are replacements from a similar era model. Frets are in good condition and the neck is straight with low action.

All in all a very cool and playable guitar with unique sound (and look!).
