Decal is pre-'V'. Just says 'Fender Bass'.
The 'Bass V' came just after this and was then modified to become the Fender 'Swinger' series of guitars. A very limited number of those were made between 1965 and 1970 - approximately 200. Far less of these were made, apparently 3! A prototype?
